I've never done it and the color we have on an existing wall is too dark. Does it matter what kind of sponge you have-course, medium, etc.? And what is glaze? Don't you just pick out another color of paint?Sponge painting walls for dummies?

go to your local home depot and attend their FREE course on sponge painting.
You can also buy paint samples (in little ziplock bags), also a piece of drywall (the size of a placemat) and practice! Better to screw it up for $20 then have to repaint all the walls.
